Cameron Moore and Susan Baker have been awarded the Youth Development Credential by Maine Roads to Quality at the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine.

Moore is site coordinator for Family Focus’ Hawthorne Before and After School Program. Baker serves in a similar role at Harpswell Community School.

The credential recognizes experience, training, and education in the area of youth development. Moore and Baker will be required to document ongoing annual training in youth development every three years to maintain their credentials, which are designed to recognize educators committed to delivering high-quality school age care.

Moore and Baker are the first school-age professionals to have been awarded Youth Development Credential in Maine, according to a news release.

Moore, of Topsham, has been working with school age children and youth for over 15 years. Baker, of Brunswick, has been working with children for approximately 15 years, and has worked with Family Focus since 2003. She also led the Harpswell Community School’s afterschool program through National Accreditation from the National Afterschool Association in 2009.
