BOWDOIN
A Turner man escaped serious injury after crashing his pickup truck into a utility pole in Bowdoin and rolling over late Wednesday.
The crash was reported in the area of 878 Augusta Road at 10:58 p.m.
Chief Deputy Brett Strout from the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department said Cory Letoile, 43, of Turner was driving a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck along Augusta Road when the truck left the roadway and struck a utility pole, breaking it in half.
The truck then rolled over and came to rest in a ditch. Lotoile was the sole occupant in the truck.
Strout said Letoile said after the crash he was tired and didn’t know what had happened. He was transported by Lisbon EMS to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with what minor injuries.” Bowdoin Fire and Rescue responded as well.
Strout said speed as well as driver fatigue are considered factors in the crash. No charges were issued.
