WISCASSET — Paddle sports can be so enjoyable. But, safety skills are essential for enjoyable trips along Maine’s coastal and inland waters in canoes and kayaks.
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering an introductory course to present information needed to operate paddle craft safely.
Materials were developed by the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the American Canoe Association and an optional certification exam can be taken at the conclusion of the class.
The course involves two class sessions: July 22 and July 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. both days.
The location is the Wiscasset EMA center.
