• The Maine Red Claws will hold a series of free summer clinics for kids of all ages starting this week. Each 90-minute clinic will begin at 10 a.m. and will be led by members of the Red Claws staff, along with former players.

The clinics will take place at the following locations: 617 Broadway, South Portland, Monday; 169 Main St., South Paris, Tuesday; 632 Main St., Rockland, Wednesday; Kennedy Memorial Drive, Waterville, Thursday; 386 Madison Ave., Skowhegan; 17 Schilling St., Brewer, July 30; 327 Main St., Bangor, July 31; 73 County Road, Westbrook, Aug. 1; 800 Minot Ave., Auburn, Aug. 12; 583 Lisbon St., Lisbon Falls, Aug. 13; 865 Portland Road, Saco, Aug. 14.

• The 24th annual Betty Blakeman Memorial Tennis Tournament will be held Friday through Sunday, with headquarters at the Yarmouth High courts.

Sanctioned as a double major by the Maine Tennis Association, the tournament is held in conjunction with the Yarmouth Clam Festival and benefits the Cancer Community Center. Play will be held in men’s and women’s open singles and doubles, open mixed doubles and men’s 55-and-over singles and doubles.
