BRUNSWICK — Arthur W. Elie, 72, of Harpswell Road, died at home on Thursday, July 11, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born in Brunswick on July 14, 1940.
He is the son of Arthur L. and Georgia Belle Elie. He attended Brunswick schools and was a member of the class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961. He worked as a painter contractor in Portland, Oregon, and the Brunswick area for most of his life.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia, sons Arthur K. and Douglas, daughters Tamara and Rebekah. Pre-deceased by daughter Pamela. Survived by brothers Fred and Clifford, sisters Pamalee and Meredith. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, 22 Water Street, Brunswick, ME on Monday, July 15th at 6 p.m. Burial in the family lot of Lunt Cemetery, Brunswick, will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Arthur’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
