Freeport will study withdrawing from Regional School Unit 5.
The Town Council voted Tuesday to approve spending $5,000 to $10,000 for a three-week study examining potential costs to taxpayers and the impact a withdrawal would have on the curriculum.
The consultant will also consider a Freeport-only school budget, in consultation with town staff.
