BRUNSWICK — Dennis S. Mathison, 68, of Brunswick, died July 11 at home.

He was born in Edgerton, Wis., on Dec. 12, 1944, the son of Lawrence and Greta Slagg Mathison.

He attended Edgerton schools and was a graduate of Edgerton High School in 1963. He joined the U.S. Navy after high school.

On Dec. 23, 1967, he married Constance P Coulombe. She died Dec. 17, 2011.

Mathison worked at Bath Iron Works in the electrical department and in the estimating and planning department until his retirement in 2004.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, parties and his family. He was a member of the Topsham American Legion.

Mathison is survived by his four daughters, Sherri Mathison, of Brunswick, Chrystal Cloutier and her husband Kevin, of Brunswick, Carol O’Farrell and her husband Fred, of Topsham, and Denise Bowman, of Topsham; sister Connie Mathison of Edgerton, Wis.; stepfather Marlowe Bjornstad, of Edgerton; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held Thursday at Stetson’s Funeral Home. Burial at Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery with military honors will be held at a later date.
