AUGUSTA (AP) — Maine businesses and organizations will have the chance to try out plug-in electric vehicles due to grants from Central Maine Power Co.

The company said this week that it will give up to $15,000 to a few selected organizations to lease or buy certain plug-in electric cars.

The program’s manager Adam Cutter says in a statement that it’s designed to encourage the use of hybrid and electric cars in Maine.
