THE 2013 TOUR DE MERRYMEETING BAY Bike Ride to benefit Topsham's new Head of Tide Park will take place Saturday, Aug. 3. Cyclists will enjoy a scenic ride along Merrymeeting Bay to raise funds for the new Head of Tide Park on the Cathance River in Topsham. Riders can choose a 50-mile loop route around Merrymeeting Bay and the lower reaches of the Androscoggin and Kennebec Rivers, or a 25-mile “Bowdoinham and Back” route for families and less-experienced riders. Both rides will begin at the Foreside Recreation Fields in Topsham. Protection and creation of Head of Tide Park is a collaborative project between the town of Topsham and the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust.
