The Denmark Arts Center is holding the second annual DAM JAM, a outdoors music festival in Bicentennial Park, Denmark on the shores of Moose Pond, across the street from the Denmark Arts Center.

Featuring a diverse lineup of bands from Maine and beyond, this year’s DAM JAM turns up the volume on last year, with more acts, extended hours, and some add-ons, including food and drink, and more kids activities. Details include:

Japanese “Taiko” drumming to open the festivities, performed by Vermont’s acclaimed Burlington Taiko Ensemble.

Acclaimed New York bluegrass duo Mountain Animation.

Maine’s resident experimental folk troubadour Jacob Augustine (with full band).

Prolific fuzz-rockers Coke Weed, fresh off their acclaimed new release.

Portland’s show-stealing synth-pop juggernaut Sunset Hearts.

…and Alternative rock icon Kristin Hersh, of Throwing Muses and 50 Foot Wave, in a rare solo acoustic set.

Added to the musical entertainment, the event will have excellent food and drink; and numerous art activities, including:

Handmade, wood-fired pizza by Fire Places Pizza, of Bethel.

Mexican street food, by Portland food truck El Corazon.

A beergarden, featuring homebrew by Bray’s Brew Pub, of Naples.

..and, for the kids, art activities coordinated by the wonderful Artvan, of Bath.
