BRUNSWICK
After a brief foot chase late Wednesday, police apprehended a West Bath man and charged him with breaking into the Tractor Supply Company store off Bath Road.
Patrol Officer Jason McCarthy arrested William Sanford, 27, of 132 Fosters Point Road, at 11:16 p.m. after Sanford allegedly tripped the Farley Road store’s burglar alarm.
Officer In Charge Patrick Mahar said Thursday that Sanford appeared to be trying to make off with a two-wheeled all-terrain cycle kept in the store’s display area. He was climbing the fence when McCarthy arrived and attempted to flee, police said.
Sanford later posted bail from the police station.
