BATH — Mr. Joel Edward Theriault, 39, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at his residence in Bath. He was formerly of Rumford.

Born in Hartford, Conn., on March 11, 1974, he was a son of William and Mary Lou (Vanderhoff) Theriault. He was a graduate of Mountain Valley High School in Rumford with the class of 1993. He served in the United States Navy. He worked as a carpenter for “Roberts Renovations” in Bath for many years.

He was a communicant of the Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius St. John Church. He enjoyed sports, especially the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. One of his greatest assets was his smile and his love of family.

Survivors include his parents, William J. “Bill” and Mary Lou Theriault of Rumford; a son, Landon Theriault of Bath; a sister, Shelly Lord and companion Jason Young of Rumford; two brothers, Scott Theriault and his wife Nancy of Strong, and Jason Theriault and companion Stacy Fortin of Rumford; his companion, Amanda Rowan of Bath; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius St. John Church in Rumford. Friends are invited to call at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at St. John Cemetery, Rumford.
