BATH – Police say that a body pulled from the Kennebec River early Sunday morning was a suicide.

The victim was an adult female, and police say she was a resident of Bath, but her name will not be released until next of kin are notified.

Police were called at 5:30 a.m. Sunday about a dead body in the water, near the south end boat ramp on Washington Street.  Evidence collected at the woman’s residence indicated that her death was a suicide, and no foul play is suspected.
