Annual Mass, 1 p.m., sponsored by the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Daniel O’Connell O’Donoghue Division, and held at The Catholic Ground at Western Cemetery, Portland. The Mass is celebrated in memory of the 1200 Irish immigrants buried at the cemetery, most without headstones, A reception will follow at the Maine Irish Heritage Center, Gray and State streets, Portland.

Gospel for New England Conference, 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday at Deering Center Community Church, 4 Brentwood St., Portland. The event is a Bible teaching conference with several speakers. Topics include the depth of the gospel, applications to daily life and opportunities for evangelism. There will be Ministry Tables available during the day and an outreach event will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday in downtown Portland.
