
After high school, Wayne signed to pitch for the St. Louis Cardinals organization, where he played for three years. In 1978, he moved to Maine where he met Debbie and they had a daughter Tara.
Wayne worked as a sheet rocker in New Hampshire and Massachusetts for a few years then as an insulation installer in North Carolina.
In 1995, he moved back to Maine and met his wife Stella and moved to Bowdoinham where he married Stella in 2000.
Wayne was a big, loud man who had a big heart and a generous soul. He was always willing to do charity work and do whatever he could. Wayne loved life and he loved people, and to have a good time.
Wayne’s greatest treasures were his daughter Tara, grandson David, his dog and his Harley in that order.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents and a grandson Brodi W. Messier.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 13 years Stella, his daughter Tara Crooker and her fiancée Justin Coffin, and a grandson David W. Gordon.
Donations can be made to Chans/Hospice or Maine Center for Cancer Medicine.
Celebration of life and interment services will be Aug. 30 at Legion Post 202 in Topsham. The gathering begins at 10 a.m., leave for cemetery at 11 a.m.
