Aug. 16-18: Schoolhouse Arts Center in Standish will present “The Comedy of Errors” from Aug. 16-18. Performances will be held Friday, Aug. 16, and Saturday, Aug. 17, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Schoolhouse Arts Center is located at 16 Richville Road (Route 114) in Standish, just north of the intersection of Route 114 and Route 35. Saturday, Aug. 17: A benefit dance will be held at the Brownfield Lions Den at the intersection of routes 5 and 113 in Brownfield from 8 p.m. to midnight for adults 21 and older with music by The Knight Riders. Admission is $10 per person and our dances are “bring your own beverages.” We will have a 50/50 and a bottle raffle there as well. Aug. 17: The Sebago Center Community Church, located at 403 Bridgton Road in Sebago, is hosting gospel singer Ralph Bedard at 7 p.m. A love offering will be taken during the concert. Refreshments will be served.

Wednesday, Aug. 21: Popsicles on the Playground with the Principal at Windham primary School takes place 5:30-7 p.m. at the A-House Playground. Calling all Windham Primary School families invited. Principal Kyle Rhoads will share popsicles out by the A-House playground with families. Rain date, Aug. 22. Call 892-1840 with any questions.

Saturday, Aug. 24: McLaughlin Garden & Homestead in South Paris will hold its annual Summer Benefit and Live Auction from 6-8 p.m. Tickets include unlimited bidding opportunities on trips and treasures, as well as live music, hors d’oeuvres from the Good Food Store in Bethel, soda and one alcoholic beverage. Tuesday, Sept. 3: Windham’s monthly grief support meeting sponsored by VNA Home Health & Hospice will be discussing Understanding Grief “ from 6–7:30 p.m. at North Windham Union Church, 723 Roosevelt Trail, Rt. 302, Windham. Saturday, Sept. 28: The First Congregational Christian Church in New Gloucester is pleased to host a community contra dance from 7-9 p.m. The event will be held in the Vestry Community Room at 19 Gloucester Hill Road, and features live music with caller Kathryn Larson. American Legion bingo: takes place every Tuesday night at the Windham Veterans Center, located behind Big Lots on Route 302 in Windham. Windham Historical Society and Museum: 234 Windham Center Road, is open to the public on Thursday mornings through the fall.

Attention crafters: the Vendredi Club of Casco is having its third annual craft fair on Nov. 3. at Crooked River School on Route 11 in Casco. The fair features a wide variety of hand-crafts and has space for more crafters who would like to have their unique craft included. Space is limited so organizers cannot accept commercial products or vendors. Contact Sharon Yackley at 627-7138 for more information and to request an application. All proceeds going to the Vendredi Club are returned to the community.
