FREEPORT — On Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the state Bureau of Highway Safety and Freeport public safety officials will hold a free car seat check at the Freeport Public Safety Building located at 16 Main St.

If you are interested in taking part in this event, families are asked to bring their children, and car seats, and if possible, the vehicle manufacturer’s manual and car seat instruction manual.

Statistics indicate that four out of five car seats are installed improperly. For more information, call the Bureau of Highway Safety at 626-3840.
