BANGOR (AP) — Police have arrested an Old Town resident they say stole a man’s wallet from a store changing room at the Bangor Mall, then went to a nearby bar to enjoy a drink.
Officers responded to the Macy’s department store at about 9 p.m. Wednesday after a man said that while trying on suits for an upcoming wedding, someone stole his shorts containing his wallet and other personal items from the fitting room.
A Macy’s cashier gave police a description of a man she said was acting strangely.
The responding officer decided to check out area bars for the man. At a nearby Chili’s, a bartender pointed out a customer fitting the description sitting at the bar.
Police say Dennis Duval, 48, was arrested and the stolen property was recovered.
