Police arrested a suspect accused of burglarizing Beale Street Barbecue on Water Street early Monday.
At 1:24 a.m. Monday, Joshua Robinson Sr., 27, of Phippburg, was arrested and charged with burglary and theft. He was later released on $1,000 cash bail.
Bath police said Officer Michael Lever approached Robinson, who had been hiding behind a box truck in the parking lot behind Smith Cleaners, and discovered him with several suspicious items, including bottles of liquor, a power tool, a butcher knife and some waxed paper.
Other officers looked for evidence of a break-in in the area and discovered that Beale Street Barbecue had a window open and a screen removed.
The items were determined to have come from Beale Street. Robinson’s first court date is scheduled for Nov. 11.
