In addition to federal grants already announced this week, Brunswick Executive Airport also will receive money to put a new roof on Hangar Five.
The roofrepair award is for $189,510, bringing the total amount of money allocated to BXM from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Military Airport Program to $444,600.
U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, 1st District, announced the additional funds Wednesday.
“I’m glad Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Agency will be able to use these funds to support the airport’s growth and competitiveness,” Pingree said. “It’s important that we keep that momentum going with this investment.”
The former naval air station previously received $181,350 for a building to house snow removal equipment building and $73,800 to design improvements to the storm-water runoff system.
