NEWRY — Sunday River Golf Club was host to the third installment of the Exotics Pro Am Series on Monday.

While some new names found their way onto the leaderboard, a familiar name topped them all at the conclusion of play.

Shawn Warren, posting a 3- under 69, outlasted a strong field to stand alone.

Other notable net team scores were posted by Johnny Johnston of Bath (net 60) and Bradley Young (net 61).

Topsham’s John Hickson and Ryan Gay both posted matching 1-under 71s, but ultimately fell just short of the winning score.

In one of the final groups of the day, it appeared that Bath’s JJ Harris was on track to chase down the leader when he made the turn at 1- under par and was looking strong to make a run. But, it was not to be for Harris when he started the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey to fall out of contention. He recovered with a birdie on the tough 17th, finishing in a tie for sixth place with Andy LaBrecque at 75.

The tour heads south for the next event that takes place this upcoming Thursday at Old Marsh Country Club in Wells. The top pro prize will once again be $2,000 cash, paid out the day of the tournament.
