• Phyllis Cohn was hired as the community and public relations specialist for the Maine affiliate of Susan G. Komen.

Cohn, of Portland, has more than 15 years of experience in public relations, including eight years at AARP as communications director for the Maine and New York offices.

• Anne Hebson and Amy Jordan joined Diversified Business Communications as operations representatives.

Hebson previously worked at Ben & Jerry’s in Freeport. Jordan had worked at Hussey Seating Co. in North Berwick.

• Chris Newell, owner of Infinity DTG Printers, was hired by the Massachusetts-based Fusion LLC as manager of its direct-to-garment industry.

Newell, of Cape Elizabeth, will be in charge of sales in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

• David Libby of Westbrook joined Fluid Imaging Technologies Inc. as a software engineer in the product development department at the firm’s Scarborough headquarters.

Libby was also a software engineer at T.D.Bank in Falmouth.

Sports marketing executives Andy Labesky and Kevin Hooks joined Shamrock Sports & Entertainment.

Labesky was named director of events and operations. He previously worked in NHL game presentation with the Atlanta Thrashers. Most recently, he worked for the Georgia Tech Athletic Department.

Hooks was hired as the promotions manager. He previously worked for the NFL Buffalo Bills.

• Marla O’Byrne of Southwest Harbor joins Maine Farmland Trust as a senior manager, starting in October.

O’Byrne has worked as a nonprofit consultant focusing on fundraising, strategic planning, and organizational development for several Maine clients. Before that, she served Friends of Acadia for 16 years, including five years leading that organization as its president.

• Jason Gass has joined Stantec’s Scarborough office as an aviation planner.

Gass will work on airport master plans, environmental assessments, financial studies and other analyses for airports across the country.

Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders has hired attorney Zack M. Paakkonen to focus his work on legal issues facing the transgender community as part of GLAD’s Transgender Rights Project. Paakkonen joins the legal team on Sept. 3.

In 2008, he and his law partner Alice Neal founded West End Legal LLC in Portland, a general practice firm focusing on the needs of the local LGBT community.


• Marie E. Hansen, J.D., Ph.D., was named dean of the College of Business at Husson University.

Hansen had been serving as the interim dean since January of 2013.

She has more than 14 years of educational and legal experience. She began working at Husson in 2003 as director of its criminal justice and paralegal studies programs. Around 2010, she was named associate dean/executive director of administrative affairs in the College of Business and director of the School of Legal Studies. She held this position until January when she was named interim dean.

• Barb Wentworth was named interim president and chief executive officer of United Way of York County.

Wentworth had served as director of community impact. She has been with the organization for 22 years and is well-known in the community.

Kathryn Davis, current president and CEO, recently announced she is leaving her post in mid-September.

Town & Country Federal Credit Union announced four internal promotions.

Bob Leger was named vice president and chief financial officer. Leger joined Town & Country in 2007 as CFO.

Pamela Kane accepted the position of vice president and chief administration officer. She joined the credit union in 1982 and has held a variety of positions over the years, most recently that of vice president of administration.

Jessica Schneckloth was promoted to collections manager at Town & Country. She joined the Credit Union in 2008 as collections supervisor.

Nicole Sears was named vice president and chief people officer. She joined the credit union in 2011 as a human resources manager.
