FREEPORT — The Freeport, Pownal and Durham Education Foundation, and Freeport Community Services will be the beneficiaries of the inaugural Freeport Half Marathon and 5K road races set for Sunday.
Both the 5K and halfmarathon will start and end near Petrillo’s Restaurant in downtown Freeport, and will take runners on a scenic road course that includes beautiful fields and coastal views. The event features technical shirts for all half-marathoners and T-shirts for 5K runners. Medals will be presented to those who finish the half-marathon.
The half-marathon begins at 9 a.m., with the 5K set for a 9:15 a.m. start.
