Maine State Ballet will open a ballet school in Bath this fall at the Universe Gym on High Street.
The school will offer classes starting Sept. 10 for all ages ranging from 3 to teens and adults.
This is the first satellite school for Maine State Ballet, the group said in a news release. Its main school is located in Falmouth.
All classes will be conducted on Tuesdays and will be taught by experienced teacher and dancer Juliette Lauzier.
Lauzier has been teaching dance at Maine State Ballet for 10 years and has been a member of the Maine State Ballet Company since its inception in 1986.
“We are thrilled to open our school in Bath,” notes Linda MacArthur Miele, artistic director and co-founder of Maine State Ballet.
“We’ve been wanting to branch out with a satellite school for years. The space at the Universe Gym is beautiful and we are excited to bring our professional level of dance instruction to students of all ages in the Bath area.”
Parents and dancers can register for classes at mainestateballet.org or by calling 781-7672.
