BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick High School field hockey team hosted Lewiston on Monday and lost 3-0 in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference play.

Jordon Van Savage had 14 saves and let in two goals, while Anna Webster had four saves and allowed one goal.

“Brunswick is improving daily and I’m very proud of how my players played the game today,” said Brunswick coach Karin Paquin.

Lewiston’s Abbie Loibal scored unassisted with 23:50 left in the first half, while Kacey Taloneo made it 2-0 with 8:13 remaining,

With 15:52 left in the 2nd half, Desirea Roy scored unassisted.

The Dragons take on Skowhegan in the road on Thursday.

Amber Ridlon scored the game-winning goal with 1:50 remaining in the first overtime to lift the host Black Bears past the 1-2 Shipbuilders at Readfield in KVAC Class B action.

Down 2-1 late in regulation, Bronwyn Morissette’s second goal with 23 seconds remaining, Morse’s only penalty corner of the game, sent the game into overtime.

Lindsay Jackson staked Maranacook (2-1) to a 1-0 first-half lead, but Morissette tied the game 1-1 at the half, with Allison Plummer picking up an assist.

Jackson scored early in the second half, and the Black Bears kept the pressure on, holding a 12-1 edge in penalty corners. Morse goaltender Bryanna Ringrose made 21 saves to keep her team in it, and Brittany Kaler had an assist
