LISBON FALLS — After a scoreless first half, the Lisbon High School field hockey team came out with fire in its eyes and proceeded to record a 4-1 Mountain Valley Conference win over Dirigo on Wednesday.

Hanna Jordan led the Greyhounds with two goals, while Nichole Jones and Olivia Harrington also tallied. Sarah Craig and Michaela Bedell each picked up an assist.

Brittany Lapointe scored for the Cougars early in the second frame.

Stevie Charest made two saves for Lisbon, while Amanda Dolloff turned aside eight shots for Dirigo.

Lisbon, now 2-0-1 and scheduled to visit Winthrop on Friday, led in shots 14-2 and had 12 penalty corners.

Bryanna Ringrose made 21 saves, but Maine Central Institute’s Katy George tallied four goals in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win at Bath.

MCI (3-0) also received one goal and three assists from Haley Tibbetts.

For Morse (1-3 and scheduled to visit Mt. View on Tuesday), Koralei Fifield and Marisabel Rodriguez played well on defense.

The Falcons traveled to Fryeburg Academy on Tuesday and dropped a Western Maine Conference match.

Freeport is now 0-3 and set to host Gray-New Gloucester on Friday.

For the 2-1 hosts, Nicole Thoreston had three goals, Mackenzie Hill two, and Rya Davis, Allison Watson and Skye Doyle one each.

Freeport goaltender Morgan Karnes had five saves, while Olivia Bubar netted the lone goal.
