LOVE 146 co-founder Rob Morris will speak at 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m., at The Rock Church of Greater Portland, 66 Gorham Road, Scarborough. Morris will explain LOVE 146 and encourage action against modern-day slavery and exploitation of children.

Blue Mass, 10 a.m., annual service recognizing law enforcement, fire and emergency personnel. Sen. Susan Collins and other dignitaries will attend. Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Cumberland Avenue, Portland. At about 9:20 a.m., a procession of federal, state and local public safety personnel will walk from Federal Street to the cathedral.

“Making the Widow’s Heart Sing,” annual conference with keynote speaker Miriam Neff and 12 workshops covering topics such as dealing with grief and loneliness, finances and social services. Western Maine Christian Men, second annual conference, 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Oxford Advent Christian Church, 1122 Main St. (Route 26), Oxford. Featured are several workshops and speakers, including Michael Heath of Helping Hands Ministry, Pastor Will Kahkonen of Victory Christian Church and Pastor Dr. Robert Boumier of Harvest Hill Church.
