AIDAN SMITH, 12, was one of several youngsters who participated in the recent “Paddle for Youth” to support the Youth Scholarship program at the Bath Area Family YMCA.

The Bath Area Family YMCA’s “Paddle for Youth,” a six-mile flat water paddle on the Androscoggin River, drew 40 kayakers and canoeists for the inaugural event, raising more than $2,000 for the Y’s Youth Scholarship program.

This year’s second annual “Hole-in-One for Youth” golf tournament took place at Mere Creek Golf Club. The proceeds from the tournament benefitted the Y’s Youth Scholarship program. This year, more than $11,000 was raised for local communities’ youth.

The Bath Area Family YMCA strives to strengthen local communities by focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Its annual campaign raises money for scholarships to assist people to reach their potential.
