THE THIRD ANNUAL Children’s Cancer Walk took place Saturday along the Androscoggin River Bicycle and Pedestrian Path. The Maine Children’s Cancer Program puts on the event to raise money for its treatment facilities and programs. Five teams, comprised of 20 or more people, participated with each team representing and walking for a particular child. Team Kiara, below right, was in full force showing up with nearly 30 walkers, including Kiara Pacheco, age 7. Kiara was diagnosed with aplastic anemia last year and has undergone several treatments at MCCP. Kiara is shown with her sister, Kambria, in the upper right photo. The walk was scheduled to be three miles in length, but participants were allowed to turn around at any time. T-shirts were given to all participants.
