Office hours

The Town Office in Durham hours are Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Wednesday closed and Thursday, 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. For more information, call 353-2561. The Town Office will be closed on Monday, Oct. 14, for Columbus Day.

Meetings

Selectmen will meet Tuesday, Oct. 8 and 22, at 6: 30 p.m., at the Town Office.

The Planning Board will meet Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Town Office.

The Historical Society will meet Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m., at the Union Church/Old Town Hall.

CEO hours

The town’s codes enforcement officer will be available from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 25, and Oct. 2, 9, 23 and 30, at the Town Office.

Play cribbage on Tuesdays

The Durham Eureka Community Center, corner of Route 9 and Route 136, will be hosting cribbage every Tuesday from 8-11 a.m. at the Eureka Center For more information call the Town Office at 353-2561.

Eureka rentals

For rentals at the Eureka Center, contact Nancy Decker at 751-1323. She is now in charge of the Eureka Center scheduling and rentals.

Friends to host benefit dinner

A pig roast harvest dinner is planned by Durham Friends, 532 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, Durham, Saturday, Sept. 28, at 5:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for children. Tickets at the door are $12 adults and $10 seniors.

Call 353-6354 for reservations. Proceeds will help Durham Friends support the Kakamega Orphan Project and the local LACO Food Pantry.

Supper proceeds aid Durham Giving Tree

The final Masonic bean supper of the season will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, from 4:30-6 p.m., at the Masonic Lodge, on Route 136 across from the River Park. On the menu are baked beans, chop suey, hot dogs, potato salad, cole slaw, bread, pickles and homemade pies. The prices are $7.50 for adults, $3 for children 5-12, and free for children under 5. Proceeds from the supper will benefit the Durham Giving Tree, for children who will not have a Christmas.

Food pantry open Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday

Lisbon Area Christian Outreach serves the towns of Bowdoin, Durham and Lisbon Falls.

The hours are Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m.-noon and Saturday 8-10 a.m. The Food Pantry is located at the Marion T. Morse School on School Street. The parking lot for the food pantry is behind the Lisbon United Methodist Church off Berry Avenue. In addition to the food pantry there is a free clothing bank. Local church services

The First Congregational Church of Durham has services at 10 a.m. every Sunday. Services for the Shiloh Church are every Sunday at 10 a.m.

Services for Friends Meeting are every Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
