OAKFIELD (AP) — The Maine Department of Public Safety charged a man in connection with the deaths of two people found inside a burning home in Oakfield.

The department says 32- year-old Matthew Davis was charged with two counts of murder on Tuesday.

Davis was arrested Monday after firefighters pulled the bodies of a man and woman from a house in Oakfield as it was being consumed by fire.

Police say Michael Kitchen, 51, is among the dead and that autopsy results show he died from multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities say positive ID is pending on the second victim. Davis is a suspect in three fires, including the Oakfield home.
