BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Junior High School boys soccer teams took on Lewiston on Monday.

In the seventh-grade contest, the Huskies slipped by for a 4-3 victory, while the Blue Devils earned a split in the eighth-grade game, scoring a 4-2 win.

The seventh-grade match went back and forth, with Emmet Taub finishing two beauties, Jacob Doring putting in one goal and Keiko Lopez- Manzanero grabbing the game winner with only minutes remaining.

Kian Murray, Alan Poulin and Noah Greene were outstanding on defense, with goaltender Cam Daly fighting off shots all day long. Murray also garnered a pair of assists, with Nuri Rosen setting up the Doring goal.

The eighth-grade match was equally thrilling, with the Huskies never quitting against a powerful Lewiston offense.

Lee Taylor opened up the scoring with a beautiful far right blast from a solo breakaway. Two Lewiston scores muffled the excitement, but Henry Doherty equaled the game.

The game remained tied throughout most of the second half before Lewiston pulled away with a pair of goals.

Nathan Harrower was tireless on defense and earned man of the match, aided by a magnificent performance from Zach Boyle, filling in on right back, along with Trevor Milbourn on left back.

With two key Huskie defenders out of the lineup, Max Gramins and Tobyn Blatt were key in the midfield, along with Michael Deveaux, Kyle Labbe and Caleb Rand.
