LEWISTON — Caitlin LaFountain scored two goals as the Mt. Ararat High School field hockey team won its fourth straight game with a 3-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory over Lewiston on Thursday.
Eva Jerome chipped in a goal, while Carly Raymond had two assists and Alyssa Curit one helper as the Eagles improved to 4-5 and hosts Bangor on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
Nellie Hetherington turned aside six shots.
Mt. Ararat outshot the Blue Devils 12-6, while Lewiston (2-6) held an 11-7 advantage in penalty corners. Kaylyn Labonte had nine saves for the Blue Devils.

In Western Maine Conference action Wednesday, Lucy Fowler scored two goals to lift Lake Region (6-2) past Freeport (2-6 and scheduled to host Poland today).
Hannah Williams scored with three minutes remaining, while goaltender Morgan Karnes made eight stops.

In KVAC action on Tuesday, Brunswick freshman goaltender Anna Webster made 55 saves and the visiting 7-1 Eagles won easily with a balanced attack.
Grace Rabinowitz had the lone Brunswick shot on goal.
