To the Editor:
I really hope the citizens of Brunswick give Byron Watson a chance at the opening for the school board. He’s a very educated man who has a great understanding of what needs to occur to maintain a productive, stable and safe school system.
He is fair, understanding and will not be easily swayed for personal gain. Byron would stick to the best options for the students, and also for the school’s staff members. I can’t imagine Byron making promises to constituents that would have to be ignored to please someone on the other side. It’s not in his nature.
I worked indirectly with Byron for about three years, and have found he is very easy to communicate with. He has a great sense of humor and can relate to just about any person and personality. He’s always extremely helpful, and always very prompt with solutions and ideas. In times of stress and hardship he remains level–headed and keeps his focus on the long-term goals. I’ve also remained personal friends with him now that he’s taken a new employment position. He does a great job balancing his work schedule with his full-time-single-dad duties. He would be a great addition to the Brunswick School Board.
If Brunswick wants to see some real work done without today’s common “personal gain” agenda, they should give him a chance and vote for him. I doubt he will disappoint.
