PRINCETON (AP) — Maine State Police say the owner of a campground in Princeton is being treated for two gunshot wounds and that the man who shot him has been found dead inside his vehicle.

State police spokesman Steve McCausland said in a release that Steve Whitman, 60, is expected to survive his injuries from the shooting around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the assailant, Craig Woodruff, 52, of Baileyville, was later found dead inside his SUV. The medical examiner’s office is to perform an autopsy today.

Whitman and his wife own Long Lake Camps in Princeton.
