FREEPORT — Emma Peterson and Olivia Shay scored second-half goals Tuesday night to lead Yarmouth to a 2-0 victory against Freeport in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game.

Morgan Karnes made 18 saves for Freeport (5-9) against the Clippers (9-4-1). 

SANFORD 1, GORHAM 0: Liz Helmreich scored two minutes into overtime as the Spartans (7-7) beat Gorham (7-6-1) at Sanford.

Marissa Nance assisted on the goal, which trickled in as Gorham keeper Megan Baker attempted to kick it out. Baker finished with 17 saves.

Sarah Goldthwaite made eight saves for the shutout. 

WINDHAM 4, BIDDEFORD 0: Hannah Skvorak scored three goals to propel the Eagles (5-9) past the Tigers (7-7) at Biddeford.

Matti Marcello also scored.

Tyra Boucher made eight saves for the shutout.

Mackenzie Hevey finished with nine saves for Biddeford. 

LAKE REGION 2, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Lucy Fowler scored both goals to lift the Lakers (10-4) over the Hawks (1-11-1) at South Hiram.

Chloe Ronco made 20 saves for Sacopee Valley. Meg VanLoan needed three saves for the shutout. 

FALMOUTH 5, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Mikey Richards converted a pass from Young Jin Kim with 23 minutes left in a scoreless game, and Elle Fitzgerald and Jillian Rothweiler added two goals each as the Yachtsmen (12-2) pulled away from Gray-New Gloucester (0-14) at Falmouth.

Fitzgerald also had an assist, as did Leika Scott.

Hillary Nash did not face a shot in the Falmouth net. Adrianna Kimball blocked 10 shots for the Patriots. 

MARSHWOOD 6, PORTLAND 0: Ashley Hickey scored twice as the Hawks (11-3) shut out the Bulldogs (3-11) at Portland.

Ashley Tice, Claudia Folger, Lindsey Poirier and Hannah Costin also scored. 

ERSKINE ACADEMY 1, MORSE 0: Nicole Wilson scored to lead the Eagles (4-9-1) over Morse (1-13-0) at South China. 

MT. VIEW 2, CAMDEN HILLS 1: Reanna Boulay scored with 20 seconds left as the Mustangs (10-4) slipped past Camden Hills (5-9) at Thorndike.

Hailey Davis pushed the ball down the field and into the circle, then passed to Megan Mikel, who sent it to Boulay for the goal.

Boulay set up Braley Leadbetter for Mt. View’s first-half goal. The Windjammers tied it on Allie Dobbins’ second-half goal. 

MASSABESIC 2, NOBLE 0: Emma Desrochers scored with 12:45 left, then assisted on Jackie Guillemette’s goal as the Mustangs (12-2) beat Noble (1-13) at Waterboro.

Massabesic didn’t allow any shots on goalie Abby Greenleaf. Bridgette Hills faced 19 shots for the Knights.


LINCOLN ACADEMY 3, WINS-LOW 2: Olivia York scored 41 seconds into overtime as the Eagles (6-3-3) defeated the Black Raiders (6-5-1) at Newcastle.


YARMOUTH 3, WINDHAM 0: Kristina Borderia had eight kills and Grace Mallet served 11 aces as the Clippers (11-1) downed the Eagles (3-9) at Yarmouth.

Ashley Boyle had 11 digs for Windham. 

GORHAM 3, LAKE REGION 0: Hallye Anderson served seven aces and hit 19 rotation points to power Gorham (5-7) past the Lakers (0-12) at Naples.

Charlene Landry added six aces and nine points, Kate Curley three aces and nine points, and Mackenzie Bowers five aces and six points. Landry added four kills and Bowers three. 

SCARBOROUGH 3, BIDDEFORD 1: Mary Cleary had 12 kills and two blocks as the Red Storm (12-0) beat Biddeford (6-6) in four sets (25-13, 21-25, 28-26, 25-13) at Scarborough.

Natalie Foster had nine kills, while Abby Mills slammed seven kills and served four aces for the Red Storm. 

SOUTH PORTLAND 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 1: Paige Carter had 14 kills and Holly Black 13 to lead the Red Riots (1-11) past Thornton Academy (1-11) at South Portland.

Carter served seven aces and Black connected on three service aces. Erin Brayden and Ashley Howe had 14 service points each for the Trojans.
