THE MERRICONEAG WALDORF SCHOOL cross country squads competed Friday in the Western Maine Conference Championships at St. Joseph’s College. In Division 2 action, the Yarmouth girls won with 27 points to beat out Merriconeag (84). Running for Merriconeag were Samantha Pierce (38, 22:48), Carlin Tindall (55, 24:00), Lily Tupper (60, 24:3), Sylvie Fenderson (65, 25:02) and Emma Dolan (84, 26:22). In boys Division 2 action, Fryeburg Academy beat out Merriconeag 32-42 for team honors. Merriconeag runners included Tucker Pierce (13th, 17:49), Zachary Neveu (14, 17:51), Dylan Wu (30, 18:42), Lars Gunderson (51, 19:48), John Burgess (58, 20:16), Graham Roeber (67, 20:37) and Lincoln Samuelson (93, 23:13). Up next for Merriconeag is the Western Maine Class C Regional this Saturday at Twin Brook in Cumberland.
