For the third consecutive month, sales of single-family homes have resulted in double-digit growth in Maine.

Maine Listings reported 1,307 homes changed hands in September — a 25 percent increase from the same period a year ago. Statewide, the median sales price for those homes increased nearly 2 percent to $173,000. The median sale price grew in all counties except Androscoggin, Piscataquis, Somerset, Washington and York.
