WISCASSET — Wiscasset Ford is partnering with the Saint Philip’s Episcopal Church of Wiscasset to help provide Thanksgiving meals for area families in need in the Lincoln and Sagadahoc county areas.
Especially at this time of the year there is an urgent need for area families less fortunate for one reason or another. Last year Saint Philip’s Episcopal Church provided 117 families and individuals from Woolwich to Newcastle with food and meals. Unfortunately this number and demand is growing.
Because of this, Wiscasset Ford has decided to assist Saint Philips Episcopal Church as a partner in the collection of nonperishable food items for these families. Any donations from the local family of friends and neighbors would be greatly appreciated.
In the Wiscasset Ford showroom will be the special F150 “Stuff-the-Truck.” The people at Wiscasset Ford are asking friends, neighbors, anyone to help them fill this truck with whatever non-perishable food items they can spare to help these less fortunate families in our communities enjoy a healthy and nourishing “feast” for Thanksgiving.
On Nov. 25, the ‘Stuff-the-Truck’ will deliver the food to Saint Philip’s Episcopal Church for distribution.
Saint Philips Episcopal Church also operates a “Feed Our Scholars” program with the area schools that provides up to 40 students with backpacks of food for the weekends. Saint Philip’s Episcopal Church’s Food Pantry is always in need of donations year round, the demand is ongoing.
