MARTINS FERRY, Ohio — George P. Burns, 53, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013. He was born on Jan. 27, 1960, in Brunswick, Maine, to Barbara (Vigue) Burns and the late George H. Burns. He attended Bath schools and was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Bath.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Michael P. Guerin and Marc A. Guerin. He is survived by his mother, Barbara A. (Vigue) Burns; his wife Lisa (Milan) Burns and stepdaughter, Hyacin Ray of Martins Ferry, OH; and two children, Natasha Littlefield and Richard Chase of Maine; and three grandchildren, Tanner and Colbie Littlefield, and Dalia Chase.

He is also survived by his four sisters, Stephanie (Dean) Batterman of Bath, Barbara (Michael) Peters of Atlantic Beach Fl, Elizabeth McDorr of Brunswick, and Amy (Michael) Maruna of England.

He worked for the Ohio Valley Coal Co. and was a member of U.M.W. Local #1810. He will be remembered as a very intelligent man with a great sense of humor. He was a beloved member of his family and will be greatly missed.

Friends and family were received at the Heslop Funeral Home in Martins Ferry, Ohio, on Sept. 4, 2013.
