BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin rounded out its regular season with a 3-0 win over Hamilton College on Saturday in women’s volleyball play.
The Polar Bears (21-6, 8-2 NESCAC) won by set scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-17 and have secured the No. 2 seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament. Bowdoin will open play this upcoming Friday night in the quarterfinals against Trinity at Williams College.
Against the Continentals, Bowdoin left little doubt of the result. The Polar Bears were led by Christy Jewett, who finished with nine kills and five blocks. Sophia Cornew had 16 assists, and Katie Doherty contributed 10 digs. Hailey Wahl notched six of Bowdoin’s 16 service aces, with Taylor Vail adding five.
On Friday, Bowdoin lost its second NESCAC match, 3-1, at Middlebury.
The Panthers (17-6, 4-5 NESCAC) won by set scores of 17-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-17.
Jewett led Bowdoin with eight kills, while Doherty and Clare Geyer each had six kills apiece. Doherty tied a match-high with 21 digs, followed by Ellie Brennan and Sophia Cornew (28 assists) with 13 apiece. Emma Patterson earned four block assists in the contest.
