BATH

Voters in Bath overwhelmingly approved a $2.5 million road bond on Tuesday.

Some of the funds will serve as the city’s match for a grant Bath received to repair Route 209, lower High Street, that runs to Phippsburg.  Bath recently received a grant for $500,000 to repair the street, which is a state highway from Leeman Highway to the West Bath town line.

The remainder of the funds will be used to repair surface streets in town, such as North Street, and roads in the North Bath area.

Voters approved the bond by a vote of 1208-328.
