L.L. Bean’s famous Bootmobile got a makeover this week – it was painted red to replicate special-edition Boston Red Sox Bean Boots in honor of the team’s World Series triumph. The Bootmobile joined players, coaches and front office personnel in Saturday’s celebratory duck-boat parade through Boston.

“This is our way of congratulating our good friends and longtime partners, the Boston Red Sox, in a way that is uniquely L.L. Bean and uniquely New England, “ said Steve Fuller, L.L. Bean chief marketing officer. “Winning the World Series in Boston is an exhilarating and thrilling accomplishment and we want to thank the Red Sox for this, as well as all of the years of enjoyment they have given to the fans of New England and beyond.”

The company also gave each Red Sox team member and staff a pair of custom-made red Bean Boots. In addition to being completely red, the boots feature a commemorative logo celebrating the victory. All Bean Boots are made in Brunswick.

According to Bean spokeswoman Carolyn Beem, the longtime Freeport retailer and the Red Sox have enjoyed a long-standing relationship. Most recently, L.L. Bean and Fenway Park both shared their 100th Anniversary celebrations in 2012.

In honor of the recent World Series championship by the Boston Red Sox, L.L. Bean gave its Bootmobile a makeover for the Nov. 2 championship parade in Boston.
