PHIPPSBURG — Stephen “Denny” Dennis Talbot, 71, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, after a long illness, on Friday, Nov. 1st, 2013.

He was born in Bath on April 11, 1942, the son of Edward and Ruby (Talbot) Williams, and attended schools in Phippsburg.

He was employed by John Morse & Sons Lumber Mill when he was 18 until 1974, when he started his own business. Denny proudly owned and operated Talbot’s Rubbish Removal for over 30 years, and he worked part time driving a fish truck to Boston. He enjoyed his work but always said it was talking to the people of the community he loved the most.

He married his soul-mate, Carolyn, on May 18, 1963, and the couple resided in Phippsburg.

He enjoyed playing cards and going to Bingo. He also loved going to the fairs and taking his chances at the casinos. Food was a passion of his, especially sweets, He always enjoyed going to dinner with friends and family; his favorites were the Galley and Applebees. In the summertime you would always find him having lunch at Percy’s, as it was on his route, or at the Center Store doing what he enjoyed the most … talking to his friends.

He loved being around family and friends, making every moment count. Taking the grandchildren out for ice cream meant the world to him. He will be missed by all those that loved him.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn in 2007; sisters, Grace Williams and Sharron Jaynes; brothers, Edward Williams Jr. and Lester Williams; brother-in-law, Joe Macmahan; sister-inlaw, Mary Williams; and niece Ruby Williams.
