BRUNSWICK — The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference released the All-Conference and All-Academic awards for the fall sports season.

Mt. Ararat

Several Eagles were named to the KVAC All Conference teams.

In football, Jordan Castonguay and Bru Abreu were recognized from the football team that finished 4- 5 and advanced to the Western B postseason.

 

 

Eric Knight was selected to the KVAC boys First Team soccer squad, while Robbie Small and Jon Roux are on the Second Team. The Eagles advanced to the Eastern A semifinals this year.

Girls soccer players Katie Labbay (First Team) and Anna Manuel (Second Team) were recognized, along with Coach of the Year Sam Chard, who led Mt. Ararat to the Eastern A title game.

Caitlin LaFountain made the KVAC field hockey First Team, with Carly Raymond placing on the Second Team, while Tyler O’Connor and Cameron Cox earned First Team honors in golf. Sam Wood and Nathan MacKenzie made the Second Team in boys cross country, while Kelly Lynch was on the KVAC First Team in girls cross country.

Brunswick High School held its Fall Awards Night on Thursday, with several athletes receiving Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference honors.

In girls cross country, Teresa Murphy was named Runner of the Year in the KVAC, while teammate Tessa Cassidy joined Murphy on the All-Conference team.

Grace Rabinowitz was selected for the Second Team in field hockey, while Derek Devereaux made the All- Conference team in golf for the Dragons.

Brunswick senior girls soccer player and leading scorer Anna Cowan made the First Team, while teammate Julia Champagne was selected for the Second Team. In boys soccer, Blake Gordon was picked for the First Team, with teammates Ryan Black and Cameron Glover earning Second Team honors.

Brunswick football is well represented on the Pine Tree Conference’s All-Conference teams. Running back Lucas McCue, guard Jacob Duffy and tackle Josh Thibeault made the First Team on the offensive side of the ball, with Thibeault (defensive line), Duffy (linebacker) and Brady Larson (safety) earning the First Team nod on defense. Tight end Cody Buchheit made the Second Team.

Girls soccer player and sophomore Miracle Trimble has been selected as the KVAC Class B Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Trimble led the Shipbuilders in scoring. Making the Second Team in girls soccer were Shipbuilders Baylie Cram and Morgan Cram.

In cross country, Christopher Walfield made the All- Conference team for the boys, while Kelsea Albertson and Amy Franklin were recognized in girls cross country.

All-Academic

All Academic honors went to Mt. Ararat’s Abreu, Castonguay, Nick Graney, Caleb Hall, Connor Read, Isaac Bradshaw, Dani Krause, Connie Hodge, Nicole Ross, Nellie Hetherington, LaFountain, Danielle Palmer, Kristen Pierce, Nick Rogers, Wood, Shea Nelson, Emmie Cox, Dani Ingle and Bailey Sullivan.

For Brunswick making the grade were Walter Martin, Zachary Miller, Amy Lyons, Murphy, Brooke Trimmer, Anna Turner, Shannon Viola, Rabinowitz, Julia Carpenter, Madeline Cowan, Anna Cowan, Caley Nicholson, Black, Ryan Brescia, Gordon, Sarah Basquez, Adam Casey, McCue and Thibeault.

Several Shipbuilders have done well in the classroom and were recognized. They are Rachel Detwiler, Franklin, Oliver Kruze, Morgan Cram, Kaitlyn Dube, Nichole Laggan, Paige Martin, Savannah Simmons- Grover, Christopher Paulus and Miranda Doak
