With the new Agren store in Topsham slated to open later this month, the Maine family-owned chain announced Friday it will close the Brunswick and Waldoboro stores on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Founded in 1969, Agren currently has retail stores in Auburn, Norway, South Portland, Waldoboro, and Brunswick. Jason Agren, president of Agren, told The Times Record in February his father opened the first store in Auburn in 1978 and the second store at 90 Maine St. in Brunswick in 1983.
The Brunswick store and the store at 1401 Atlantic Highway in Waldoboro will close Saturday. The new 13,900-square-foot store at 78 Mallett Drive in Topsham, which broke ground in May, is projected to open Monday, Nov. 25, according to the announcement, and “Sales records and contracts for items purchased at the Waldoboro and Brunswick locations will be transferred to the new Topsham location.”
“The Topsham store will feature a live kitchen for cooking demos and classes, as well as a state-of-the-art appliance showroom with multiple kitchen vignettes. There will also be a contemporary showroom with a special mattress testing area and over 50 mattresses on display,” the release states.
“We can’t wait for customers to experience our new Topsham location which will offer the same great professional service they know and love, along with a wide selection of high-quality appliances,” said Agren. “We will continue to provide delivery for new purchases as well as removal of old appliances, and as always, we will offer our No-Lose Warranty.”
Agren’s new Topsham retail store hours will be Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Customers with questions about service or warranty contracts may contact the Topsham operations manager, Jamison Leavitt, at [email protected].
