BATH — Fay Joanne Brewer, 81, died peacefully Nov. 3 at Mid Coast Hospital.

She was born Feb. 14, 1932, the daughter of Helen M. and Worrall C. Lemont. She attended Bath schools.

Brewer spent most of her life in Newport, R.I., while her husband served in the military. During that time, she worked at the Officers Club as a hostess and manager, retiring in 1986. After her retirement she enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rodney W. Brewer; three brothers, Worrall Lemont, Theodore Lemont, of Bath, and John O. Lemont, of Phippsburg; and a sister, Virginia Watson, of Phippsburg.

She is survived by daughters, Carol Andrew, of Bath, and Maryann Williams and husband Robert; son, Rodney Brewer and wife Kathy; four sisters, Mary Libby, of Phippsburg, Nancy Pederson, Helen Fredrick and husband Lee, and Adele Madore, all of Bath; and by her loving companion, her 15-year-old Pekingese dog, Baby.

Visiting hours were held Nov. 12 at the David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, Bath, followed by a funeral. A gathering of friends and family was held after burial at Calvary Cemetery.
