Pictured Friday, Nov. 8 is the site of the former Maine Energy Recovery Company waste-to-energy incinerator in Biddeford, which closed at the end of last year after being purchased by the City of Biddeford. The site was recently cleared of all buildings except the smokestack. Environmental cleanup of the site could be completed by the end of the year, and the city will seek proposals on how to redevelop the site. (DINA MENDROS/Journal Tribune)
