BROOKS — Leif Weaver, 45, of Brooks, died Nov. 14, 2013.

Born in Dover-Foxcroft, Leif grew up in Ashland and Topsham and graduated from Mt. Ararat High School. He studied architecture and physics at the University of Texas at Austin.

Leif ’s life was defined by his boundless curiosity and quest for knowledge, his sense of adventure, love of physical activity outdoors, and deep love for his friends and family. He was always up for a challenge. His work designing environmentally conscious homes combined his talents for art, math, science, and origami. He was a wicked Spades player and a martial artist; his prowess at games of strategy is legendary. He delighted in finding mentors and mentoring others in turn. He found peace and joy kayaking in heavy seas at night, hiking long distances in his beloved North Woods, stargazing, and wrestling with the mysteries of the universe.

Leif is survived by his wife, Becky; parents Rhonda (Hanson) and Lloyd Weaver; brother and sister-inlaw Craig Weaver and Zoe Miller; sister Fiona Warren-Bassett; grandmothers Jean Hanson and Idyllene Warren; sister in-law and brother in-law Stephanie Jackson and Joe Rosato; brother-in-law Doug Jackson; nephews Isaac and Asa Weaver; niece Olivia Rosato; brothas from anotha motha Kirk Hotte, Michael Aaron, and Scott Giroux; and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid- Maine or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home Belfast, Maine. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
