WORKERS HOIST a historic bell into place atop the new Unitarian Universalist Church of Brunswick at Pleasant and Middle streets this morning. The building under construction will replace a building that burned in June 2011. The bell’s storied legacy includes surviving a church disaster in 1884 as well, when it came crashing through the steeple and roof during a fire at a previous church at the southeast corner of Maine and Mason streets.
